Closed Issue: Windows Form in cosmos [16091]

Hello,

i am using cosmos to create an os.
I would like ti insert a windows form.

protected override void Run()
{
Console.Write("Input: ");
var input = Console.ReadLine();
input.ToString();
if (input == "1")
{
var f1 = new Form1();
f1.Show();
}
}

I use the above and an error comes up that native code encountered, plug required etc.
How can i solve it?

I got it working a full compile only with installed VS 2012 express. There is a trick for install VS SDK 2012.
So when do we the update?

.iso has a users dir in it

And it shouldnt... might be bug in the MOSA library for ISO that we use.

Well I fixed it by making some changes in Mosa Iso utlity, So now you can check, it is not building user directory in iso :)

When i create my project(visual basic 2010 shell) every come this error:

I build project and run on VMWARE player, get an error like 'No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found'.

When I open the .iso file, i see that directories have name contains '?' character such as '?SOL?NUX.B?N'.

Then I manually change these names in notepad ++ with character 'I' and run .iso file in VMWARE player succesfully.

I think it can be caused by not using Windows in English.

Tryed to compile under virtual machine (Win XP) don't works.
May be problem with visual studio, I use Ultimate version (RU)

Hey.. There are H U G E problems with the new UserKit..
I downloaded and installed it.

I cannot create a project:
- Cosmos.bxrc not found
- C:\Users\Splitty\AppData\Local\Micosoft\Visual Studio\10.0\ProjectTemplatesCache_{very much 0's}\Cosmos\Cosmos.zip\CosmosProject.Cosmos not found

I tried to use my old project.
But it didn't create an ISO file in the output directory.

Content of the output directory:
- Cosmos.bxrc
- WitchBuilder.asm
- WitchBuilder.bin
- WitchBuilder.log.html
- WitchBuilder.map
- WitchBuilder.obj

But no iso..

Please try to fix that as soon as possible. It is important to debug the OS and this is impossibe.

There are general problems with that UserKit and we are proactively working on fixing the source to a user kit type state.

It supports stopping the kernel for a few milliseconds/seconds

Please close this. Threading is not supported. Create an alternative or write a plug.

You cannot use System.Threading.Thread.Sleep()
You'll need to plug it.. Threading is not officially supported at the moment.
