Data-type Conversion

Jun 29, 2010 at 7:01 PM

I'm just playing around with the OS and I've noticed that the "Convert. To<whatever>" methods don't work. Now, since I was trying to convert text entered by a user from a string to an int, I actually did manage to create a hideous-looking hack that does (with way too many lines of code) what "Convert.ToInt32" does. However, what I'm wanting to know is, is there any way to simplify the process converting data types?

To*(string) uses globalization, which is not (and wont for a while) supported on cosmos. Only option is to make a compatible function, and use that (if you want to contribute the function, you could plug Convert class...)
