Using IOPortBase in Cosmos.Core?

I am trying to use IOPortBase.Read and .Write for some tests, but it says that I can't access them due to their protection level. How do I do it? I am relatively new to c#, so this is probably a newb question.

Take a look at how the kernel uses them. They are protected on purpose.

Yes, but is there a way to access them? I tried using override in my function, but it still didn't work.
