If these features are added to cosmos, it will highly increase it he quality of the OS produced and target a larger audience of developers
  • Java support alongside C#
  • C++ support
  • MAC and Linux support
  • making cosmos compatible with mono develop

1) Java - NO. You seriously misunderstand the project if you think we need or want Java support.

2) Managed C++ works just fine currently in Cosmos. Again you don't seem to understand how Cosmos works.

3) See #1 and #2.

4) Barely have the resources to maintain VS let alone more IDEs.

1) I am not saying we need this stuff immediately, but Java support will allow for a more wide range of users.
2) We can use C++, how, i did not see it anywhere?
3) Porting Cosmos over to other opearing systems would be a good thing, also like i said before this will allow for a more wide range of users
4) Like i said before not need to be over night.

1: we compile CIL code, so as long as Java or C++ compiler to pure managed .NET assemblies, everything should work.
2: See #1
3: Currently we only have 2-3 devs, from which only 1 is actively developing. So there's no room for any more platforms to support....
